5 things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

The months of September to December are by far the best of the year in my pumpkin/holiday obsessed opinion. First you have the first day of fall(which I have decided is the first day of September regardless of what anyone else tells you) then for us Canadians you have Thanksgiving!! A day that is set aside for you to take a moment from your busy life, breathe and be pay notice to all the beautiful things happening around you! Just look around! There  is so much to be thankful for!!

In this day and age not only do I feel that it is harder to make a comfortable life for yourself and your loved ones, I also feel that  no matter what it is that you do in life, from being a mother or a father, being a career women or man, being an entrepreneur! Whatever it is that you do in your life, “more” is always expected of you. Everyone is so focused on reaching that next chapter or goal, the big raise that they’ve been hoping for, the bigger house, the better car, that nobody appreciates where they are at this moment. People are always looking at how far they have to go and not how far they’ve come! Nobody takes time to enjoy the adventure that is “Life”!

We’ve all seen the quote on social media “do more of what makes you happy and less of what doesn’t” or “if you are unhappy where you are move, you’re not a tree” Sometimes it’s not that easy! You need that crummy job that you hate because it pays well or you can’t afford to move to a city you’ll love .. so on and so on. All of those things may be true but if there is a will there is a way!! There is always a way to do more of what makes you happy and be more aware of the things that you have in your life that you should be thankful for. Lately, I have really been trying to do more of what makes me happy and less of what doesn’t. I have been trying to slow down and enjoy that cup of coffee instead of slamming it while I’m rushing to work. It’s so so important that we enjoy life! We all know this is the only life we get and it’s time we start cherishing all the moments we have and loving the way we dream of!

So in spirit of Thanksgiving, no matter how big or little they are here are some of the things that I am thankful for:

I am thankful for coffee, black coffee, sweet coffee, bitter coffee, foamy lattes with pretty designs on the tops! All the coffee. I am thankful for my job, while it might not be the most professional or upstanding job anyone has ever had it makes me happy and for the most point I enjoy going to work everyday. I am thankful for my family and friends, they are the most important people in the world to me and it’s important to cherish the moments you had because they may not always be there. I am thankful for long weekends and farms with cute fluffy goals that you can pet! I am thankful for fall and pumpkins! I absolutely love pumpkins. I am thankful for holidays, and all the decorating that comes along with them!  I am thankful for my clothing! and jewelry! and shoessss! I am thankful for my sphinx Tyrese, even though he’s bad he’s so so cute. I am thankful for my fiancé family for making me feel accepted and part of their clan. Most importantly I am thankful for my fiancé, all day, everyday, good times and bad. He is there for me. No matter how rough times are or how much we get on each other’s nerves, we still choose to love each other everyday and I am grateful for him.

What are you thankful for?!

    Beautiful photos!

I agree – I love it when the weather gets a little cooler and we start gearing up for the festival season. We don’t have Thanksgiving in the UK, but Bonfire night and the excitement of Christmas are by far my favourite times of the year!

I am thankful for coffee too, and my healthy family and friends, and red wine.
